Elementary School E-notes: Sept.20, 2017

Dear Parents,
Thank you for following our new After School Activities procedures.
As a reminder:

• All ASAs end at 4:30.
• Parents should pick up their children at the activity site.
• Sponsors need to get bus riders on the buses and ready to leave at 4:40.
• Red Tag walkers must leave campus when the activity ends.
• Students who are picked up late will be asked to wait in the ES Tower.

Our larger activities: Drama and Pierogi Bowl continue to search for better ways to release students on time. These new procedures assure improved student safety as it is an expectation that all ASA supervisors have recorded information regarding student pick-up.

School Photos next week!

• PK/K students will have Class and Individual photos on Monday, September 25.
• Grades 1-5 will have
  • Class Photos on Monday, September 25
  • Individual Photos on Tuesday, September 26 and Wednesday September 27. (Teachers will share the exact dates they have scheduled via their class blogs.)

*Students will bring home payment envelopes on Thursday. These are due on the date of your child’s individual photo session.

October 3 and 4th: PK-Grade 5 Parent-Teacher-Student: 3-Way Conferences
What can you expect from these important conversations?
What will the STUDENT do?

• Discuss their reflections and samples of work
• Set learning intentions/goals/promises with their teacher and parents

What will the TEACHER do?

• Facilitate the conference and guide the student through the process by giving prompts and asking questions related to the work samples being presented
• Set learning intentions/goals/promises in collaboration with student and his/her parents

What will PARENT do?

• Ask questions, provide feedback and encouragement to their child and to share their thoughts and ideas on what is being presented and on goals being developed
  
• Encourage the student to review and reflect on any previous learning goals
  
• Help the student to set and record goals for future learning
  

Sign-Ups Open on September 25!

Parents will be able to sign up using our new system beginning on Monday, September 25 at 9:00 a.m. until September 29, 2017 at 10:00 p.m.
