The next several weeks leading up to our Winter Holiday will be a busy time in the Elementary School. We will have holiday parties, concerts, and will be helping our students say goodbye to friends who will not be returning in January. If your family is moving, please be sure to let Admissions know so we can adequately plan to assist in your transition. PTO: ASW Jingle Bell Fun Run The second annual ASW Jingle Bell Fun Run is quickly coming up. We hope to see ES, MS & HS kids out on the track on Friday, December 9 at 15:45, after the holiday bazaar. The run will be open to the ASW community, including parents who might wish to run with their kids. Please note: Elementary School Students will need to be supervised by their parents! It’s a simple process; laps of the running track 'under the lights' accompanied by your favorite holiday tunes, followed by Hot Cocoa, Marshmallows and some treats. Santa Hats and Jingle Bells are complimentary. More info to follow. (Questions? PTO Book Fair: The PTO Book Fair is on November 22 and 23 with the proceeds going to our ASW library. All elementary students will attend the book fair. There will be a wide variety of books available with many children’s books in the 15 to 50 PLN price range. The Giving Tree Project: The Giving Tree Project helps to bring a happy Christmas to children in orphanages in Warsaw. This year we are continuing our collaboration with Children’s Home #3 which is supported by the “Czwórka” Foundation with whom we have been working since 2013. Goals: For the ASW community to donate gifts to 30 children in the orphanage How to Donate: From 29th of Nov. there will be stations near the main entrance to select Christmas wish lists. (8:00-8:30 and 15:30-16:00). Purchased gifts are returned to the station and the donating person/family can put their name on our Giving Tree. All gifts need to be returned by: December 12. If you would rather donate money, you can do so at the station. Questions? Message from the Principal: This weekend I traveled to watch the HS play volleyball in Prague. It was an exciting time. Our students played well and demonstrated sportsmanship and community. It made me very proud to be a Warrior-mom. It was also nice to see how the work we do in the ES each day, contributes and supports our students as they grow up. After School Activities Sign-Ups- Closed Winter Session begins Monday, Nov. 21 *NO ASAs this week!* (Questions? Parent Partnership Meeting: Literacy and Math- 08:45 Wednesday in the TLC A011 Instructional coaching isn’t new in the world of education, but this year literacy and math coaching are new at ASW. Are you curious about what instructional coaching is and how it is impacting your child’s education? Please join Literacy Coach, Heidi Laffay, and Math Coach, Ann-Marie Cetlinska to learn more. Open House On Wednesday, November 16th, ASW will be hosting an Open House event for prospective families and other interested parties. Please spread the word among your friends and acquaintances! Everyone interested in international, American-style education for their child is welcome to join us on November 16th. Open House will start at 10:00am with a general introduction, after that we will be visiting classrooms and touring the school facilities. Parents can bring their children along!
