Dear parents, Welcome back! We are all happy to see the lighter and brighter weather this morning as we welcomed our students into school. It is good to be back! As we move into March and what is sure to be more rain and weather, I encourage you again to be sure to label your children’s things to assist us all in finding them when lost. (Our lost and found is located opposite the stairs and near the tower.) Please note March 24 is a no-school day so we can host elementary conferences. Specific information about sign-ups and procedures for that day will be released next week. However, please note that our expectation is for teachers to hold their conferences on that day. Your attendance is important. Thank you for planning to be here. Warmly, Jen Munnerlyn esoffice@aswarsaw.org Important Upcoming Dates to Note: (more detailed information below)
Parent Tech Connection When: Wednesday, March 1 from 8:45 to 9:45 Where: Teaching and Learning Center - A002 (near the main entrance) In the Elementary School at ASW, one way students use technology is to create multimedia projects to demonstrate their understanding of new concepts and ideas. In this session, we will explore iPad apps that our students use across the grade levels. Join Simon May and Kris Sheehan (with help from our elementary students) for some “app smashing”, as we create media with three or four of our apps and then put them together into one movie. This will be an active, hands-on hour where you will get to see how quick and easy it is to create your own media with the iPad. Kiss and Go Drop Off Zone: Parking Lot Reminder! Please remember our school safety agreements about parking and drop off. In the Fall, this brochure was sent to all in our community to show the areas for parent and staff parking, rules for cyclists, speed, and curbside drop off: Kiss and Go! If you are dropping off or picking up, please do not leave your vehicle unattended on the curb. If you plan to walk your child in, please park in the parent section. Your support of this process is appreciated. Thank you for keeping our parking lot safe! (Questions? IF you would like your child's name presented differently than how we refer to them in school, please complete this name verification form. (Teachers will check Yearbook names and nationalities to verify they are accurate before publishing.) IF you would like to use an electronic version of a photo instead of the one taken here at ASW for the yearbook, please email your photo to Mr. Miele. (Ideally, the photo should be portrait style similar to what was found in previous yearbooks and at least 300dpi, .jpeg, .tiff, and .png are acceptable formats. Please include the name and nationality of the student as they would like it to appear in the yearbook.) All forms will be closed on March 1. (Questions?
