We did it! The end of the 2016-17 school year is upon us! It has been a wonderful year for our community, students and staff. As I say goodbye to students who are moving on, I am always sure to remind them that they made a difference in our lives and will never be forgotten. I look forward to seeing you all in August. Elementary Enotes - June 12, 2017 ![]() Principal’s Note:
Last week we witnessed joyful, authentic, and PYP-connected performances from our Grade 1, Grade 3 and Grade 4 musicians. Congratulations to Mr. Minasz and Ms. Andrews as they demonstrate how our PYP Units of Inquiry will link with their music curriculums and even in these concerts! I know more about animals than I did before the Grade 1 performance! We will not have school on Thursday as it is a National Holiday to celebrate Corpus Christi Day. That said, we are in session on Friday, June 16, with many important year-ending events planned in our classrooms. Not long now… the countdown has truly started to our end of year. What a wonderful year it has been! Warmly, Jen Jen Munnerlyn ES Principal ([email protected]) Important Upcoming Dates to Note: (more detailed information below)

It was the biggest event of the year and the one I most looked forward to. In fact, about two weeks before, I convinced my dad to “train” with me so I could enter a race… and win. Of course, I didn’t win the race, but it doesn’t diminish the memory. Sun, fun and friends! (And a day without “school!”) Field Day was a hit at ASW last week too. Not only were the activities fun and the students engaged, the weather was simply glorious! What a wonderful day to be out and about having fun with friends. Thank you our Staff who made the day possible. A few weeks ago I provided a list of next year’s teachers in ENotes. Please note that we have hired Ania Saławiła-Lothamer as an Early Childhood Teacher (replacing Kate Szyszko) for next year. Ms. Lothamer has been working as a Teaching Assistant in the Elementary School at ASW since 2000. For the past many years, she has partnered with Joyce Husick (who will leave us at the end of this year) in Grade 2. Have a wonderful week!
