Watching for Anxiety in Children Following an Emergency:
We are aware that students will react in different ways to emergencies of this nature, so it will be important to have support available to them as needed. Counselors are available in the school setting to assist students as they express their feelings related to the fire. We have included an article link (see below) to help you recognize possible anxiety reactions you may observe in your child and ways forward to talk to them. If you feel your child is in need of special assistance or is having a great deal of difficulty coping with the fire in any way, please do not hesitate to reach out.
(Questions? Please contact our ES Counselors: Ms. Gentilini email@example.com and Ms. Hamlin firstname.lastname@example.org)
December 5-16: Library Notes:
The library is temporarily closed for cleaning following the cafeteria fire. Be aware that we have many e-books and online research tools that students and parents can access. Check out the ES page of the library website for links and ideas!
Wanted: New or gently used children’s books in languages other than English. If you are travelling to your home country over the holidays, please consider picking up a new book or books in your native language to donate to the library. Or consider donating books that your children have outgrown. We are expanding our World Languages collection and would very much appreciate your donations after the holidays. Thank you very much!
